The following message was sent on September 25, 2024 to the Video Club’s members and friends.
The Video Club is at a crossroads and needs volunteers to fill several key positions.
We encourage our members and guests to join us on October 19, 2023 in the Video Lab for a special General Meeting to discuss “Shaping Our Vision.”
How can we best use and enjoy video in the years ahead – both in the club and in our own lives? Socializing and refreshments at 6:30 pm; program at 7:00. Speakers will include:
- Suzanne Savlov, Producer and Editor of the “Eyes on Books” and “Beyond the Gates” half-hour TV shows which air monthly on Village Television. Suzanne will describe how our Video One Production team plans and produces these shows.
- Marsha Berman, Membership Director and longtime Friday Lab Supervisor, will talk about what we do and what we offer in the Video Lab.
- Dr. Tom Nash, Vice President and Director of Learning Opportunities, will talk about video classes and activities such as Shooting Expeditions and our Short Film Showcase series.
- Lucy Parker, Webmaster and Past President, will talk about one of our club’s most challenging learning opportunities – producing original Short Dramatic Films. Lucy has worked on four of our five films, having written one, directed another, and co-produced our latest, “Seeking Online Adventures,” now in post-production.
This is a great time to learn about all the various services the Video Club offers – how volunteers support these services – and new directions to explore.
