The Video Club’s Winter 2024 Learning Opportunities Schedule is now available, listing four upcoming classes – three of them NEW – plus other learning opportunities offered by the club, including monthly General Meetings, monthly Video One Productions meetings, and the quarterly Short Film Showcase series.
Pre-registration is required for all classes. Pay at first class session.
NEW CLASS: ”Four Easy Steps to Make A 4-Minute Video Story About Your Life,” 5 sessions. Mondays, January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5. Instructors: Sheryl Martin, Jonathan Williams. Sheryl has been a frequent winner in the club’s annual Goldies Short Video Awards Contest. $25 for members, $40 for non-members (includes club membership). 10 am-noon, Video Lab. NEW CLASS: “Continuity,” 3 sessions. Tuesdays, February 6, 13, 20 Instructor: Dr. Tom Nash. Learn how to shoot and edit video so that the various parts of the video come together into a harmonious whole. Includes techniques for avoiding continuity errors. Everyone who shoots and/or edits video needs this course. $15 for members, $30 for non-members (includes club membership). 10-11:30 am, Video Studio.
NOTICE: The “Smile for the Camera” class has been postponed until spring, 2024.
NEW CLASS: “Smile for the Camera,” 3 sessions. Wednesdays, February 14, 21, 28. Instructor: Cherri Farah (right). An experienced on-air talent, Cherri Farah will share tips about how to do interviews and how to conquer nervousness when addressing the camera You’ll learn where you should look and how to present yourself to best advantage. As you practice interviewing and on-camera presentations, you will build confidence and technique. Some of your work will be recorded and reviewed in class. $15 for members, $30 for non-members (includes club membership). 2-3:30 pm, Video Studio.
