New Video Lending Library Is Now Available

The Video Club has added a a Video Lending Library to its educational offerings. Some two dozen books, as well as several DVDs about making and appreciating video are available to all residents and club members in the wooden cabinet in the Video Lab, open Tuesday-Friday, 1-4 pm. Topics include video production, directing actors, doing story-boards, and more – including the classic “How to Shoot Video That Doesn’t Suck,” widely-used in schools and colleges as a video class textbook.

Materials may be borrowed for up to three weeks without charge, using a self-check-out and check-in system. Heading the library project is club member Susan Wheeler (shown below with Dr. Tom Nash, sorting library materials), who worked in Seattle area public libraries before moving to the Village. Viewers of the Video Club’s monthly travel TV show, “Beyond the Gates,” know Susan was one of the show’s co-hosts.

Working with Susan is club Vice President Dr. Tom Nash, who has contributed many books from his own collection. Before retiring, Tom founded and ran Biola University’s film school. “The collection is growing as members contribute books and DVDs,” Tom observed.
