“Join the Team!” will be the theme when a group of Video Club leaders meets for sandwiches, libations, and phone calls from 5 to 6:30 pm on Monday, July 15 in the Video Lab.
The “Phone Party,” believed to be a Video Club “first,” is being led by President Jonathan Williams (right), who explains: “We’re not ‘cold-calling.’ We’re calling friends to talk about their interests.”
Club members who have already stepped up in response to a “call for volunteers” at the June 12 General Meeting include JoAnn Post — our new Hospitality Director (!!) — as well as Alan Clark and John Choi — both now working on Membership and Outreach with Membership Director Marsha Berman. Other June 12 volunteers were Mary Trinidad (Program Planning) and Cam Phan, Dianna Bolen, and Zora Lee (Video Production and Editing). Welcome aboard, everyone!!
Phone Party participants will make calls to club members on their own phones, leaving their own numbers if a call-back is requested. Emphasis will be on greeting each member, learning about their individual video interests, and drawing attention to leadership opportunities in six key areas – as shown in the announcement below.
