Community Invited to Centenarian Project Launch Reception June 28

Below are Antoinette Mullen at age 26 and 106 and John Dudley in his mid-20s and age 100. They are two of 16 Village residents over 100 years of age who have participated in the project..

Antoinette Mullen-106Celebrate the launch of the Village Centenarian Project and learn more about some of your most experienced neighbors. The community is invited to attend a Launch Reception for the project on Friday, June 28, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm in the Community Center Board Room.

Headed by photographer Mark Rabinowitch and videographer Lucy Parker, sponsored by the Thrive Task Force and produced in cooperation with the Camera Club, the Video Club, and the Department of Recreation and Special Events, this event will feature past and current portraits of 16 project centenarians, as well as a video preview of three 30-minute television programs containing participant interviews. Refreshments will be served.

John Dudley copyThe Village Centenarian Project will be on display at Clubhouse 2 during the Village’s July 4 celebration event and during Grandparents’ Fun Day, scheduled for Saturday, August 3. The television programs are scheduled to air on Village Television during July, and the entire project—portraits and interviews—will be posted to the Village website late this summer.
