“Importance of Creativity” to Be November 15 General Meeting Topic

    Election of officers will be held at the November General Meeting

    In a strong show of solidarity, all 2018 Video Club officers have agreed to serve again in 2019. The slate of Steve Carman, President; Dr. Tom Nash, Vice President; Stephanie Brasher, Secretary; and Bob Kulpa, Treasurer, was announced at the October 18 General Meeting. Steve will be serving his fifth year as head of the club, giving longtime PC Club President Bob Sellards a run for his money. 

Creativity Program ArtVideo Club member Cyndee Whitney, well known to viewers of Village Television as the host of “Discovering Laguna Woods Village,” will be our General Meeting speaker Thursday, November 15, with a multi-media presentation on “The Importance of Creativity Throughout Our Lives.” Open without charge to members, residents, and their guests. Snacks and socializing at 6:30 pm, program at 7 pm in the Video Lab. This insightful program was originally developed for the Emeritus Lecture Series.

“How we are introduced to creativity as children impacts how we approach problem-solving and creative decision-making throughout our lives,” says Cyndee “Whether it is in a learning or business environment, or navigating the complex decisions required in retirement, examining creative solutions will produce better outcomes. We’ll look at how remaining open to creative possibilities serves us at every stage of life.”

With a Ph.D. In human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate University, Cyndee worked in human development for Disney Consumer Products. She also served as Director of Artist Development for Disney, where she managed training and recruiting and developed an apprenticeship program. Before that, she was a Disney character animator on such films as “The Little Mermaid” and “The Great Mouse Detective.”
