The recent donation of a Wolverine Film 2 Digital Movie Maker by resident Eric Ordway makes it possible for users in the Video Lab’s Marvin Green Memorial Capture Center to copy their old 8mm and Super 8 films. In the photos, member and resident Gary Truax copies an 8mm film of his wife, Laurie, at about age five to MP4 video format. He then projects the 60-year-old footage on the Video Lab’s large-screen TV. The Lab does not have 16mm capabilities.
Visit the Video Lab Tuesday-Friday from 1-4 pm to transfer old media to new digital formats. Club members and Village residents may also borrow consumer camcorders and related equipment at no charge (deposit required). Loans are made only on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
