If you want to actually feel the music featured in April’s “Beyond the Gates” live, mark your calendar. “Trust 1” packs the house at Mozambique Restaurant in Laguna Beach every first Sunday during the lunch hour, and yes, reservations are a must because it is always standing room only.
The group’s dynamic lineup includes vocalists Will Wilson, Michelle Neely, Dee Vine Williams, and Damani Roberts; Jara Harris on drums; “Big” Lex White on bass; and Dallas Kruse on keyboards. Join “Beyond the Gates” host John Peters as he dives into the magic behind their sound, and discovers why Sunday lunch becomes a soulful celebration when gospel, great food, and Laguna Beach sunshine come together.
Travel down the coast with host Susan Wheeler as she visits FINCA Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano, where chef and owner David Pratt showcases his woodfired approach to fresh, healthy cuisine. FINCA’s menu is thoughtfully organized into four categories: Greens, Farm, Ranch, and Beverages, with seasonal vegetables rotating under “Farm” and hearty favorites, like burgers, featured under “Ranch.” Add in a carefully curated Mexican wine list, and you have got a destination worth exploring. Oh, and the margaritas!
