New Class Explains “Role of Producer”

Role of Producer Class 3-3-18

Students in Dr. Tom Nash’s “Role of the Producer” class evaluate each others’ ideas for video projects.

A new three-session Video Club class, “The Role of the Producer,” will answer the question: “Who makes team-based video projects actually happen?” According to the instructor, Dr. Tom Nash, “Beyond those doing creative work in front of and behind the cameras, the essential role of ‘putting it all together’ is played by the producer. That includes planning, getting funding, budgeting, lining up personnel, scheduling, handling legal issues, arranging distribution, and more.” Does this challenging, managerial kind of creativity appeal to you? Come and find out! Click here for flier.

The class is being held Saturdays, March 3, 10, and 17, from 10 am-noon in the Video Studio. $15 for members, $30 for non-members (includes 2018 club membership). Pre-registration is not required. For more information, contact Dr. Tom at tom@tomnash.net, 714 381-0781. Originally scheduled last fall, this class was canceled twice, first due to illness and then due to a scheduling conflict.
