The Video Lab will open at 2 pm instead of 1 pm on Friday, December 7, due to the Village-wide Volunteers Luncheon at Clubhouse 5 that afternoon. All residents who volunteer to serve their fellow residents, often through community clubs, are honored by the Recreation Department with a delicious meal at this popular event.
“Improv Acting” Class Cancelled – A new 3-session Video Club class, “Improv Acting for the Camera,” scheduled to commence on Wednesday, January 9, has been canceled by the instructor, Dr. Jeanne Mayer, due to scheduling issues. The Learning Opportunities Committee hopes to be able to offer this class at a later date. Jeanne’s “Smile for the Camera” class has been offered twice with an enthusiastic response!
The Video Lab will be closed for the holidays from Tuesday, December 25, through Tuesday, January 1, reopening on Wednesday, January 2. Normal Video Lab hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 4 pm.
Camcorder Loans Handled on Wednesdays and Thursdays – Members and other residents wishing to borrow consumer camcorders from the Video Club (no charge, deposit required) should pick up and return equipment on Wednesdays and Thursdays when Wednesday Supervisor Betsy Martin and Thursday Supervisor Lucy Parker are on duty. Betsy and Lucy manage the camcorder loan program.
