Reservations are now open for the Video Club’s 15th Annual Goldies Awards Banquet, to be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 5 pm in Clubhouse 7. The event — and the annual Short Video Contest which it celebrates — were rescheduled from late winter to summer this year due to a vehicle accident on December 2, which damaged and temporarily closed the Video Lab, causing still-ongoing issues for the Video Club.
With a delicious buffet menu (see below) provided by The 19 Restaurant, costs have been kept close to those of last year’s Banquet — $35 for members, $40 for non-members. The deadline for reservations is Tuesday, June 30, and walk-ins will not be seated. Scan the QR code (below, right) for reservation instructions.
At the Banquet, entries in the Short Video Contest will be shown and members present will vote to choose the top three winners. Fran Conroy (above, left), a longtime Village resident and club member who has appeared on Video Club-produced TV shows, has agreed to serve as the evening’s Emcee, according to Club President Jonathan Williams.
The statuettes given to winners were dubbed “Goldies” by late Past President Steve Carman in honor of our club benefactors, the Golden Rain Foundation of Laguna Woods Village, and in honor of ourselves — the golden oldies!
